What is IslandLive?
IslandLive is Sri Lanka's event guide. It brings concerts, festivals, sports, theatre, food, business, community, education and nightlife events into one place, with dates, venues and maps — so you can find what's happening across the island and head straight to each event's official seller in a few taps.
Do you sell tickets?
No. IslandLive is a discovery site, not a ticket seller. We list events and point you to the organiser's official channel — their own ticketing site, a WhatsApp number, free entry, or pay at the door. You buy directly from them, at their price.
How do I get tickets for an event?
Open the event page and follow the official link. Depending on the event, that's the organiser's ticketing site, a WhatsApp chat to book, free entry with nothing to buy, or paying at the door on the day. Whatever the route, you deal directly with the organiser — we just point you the right way.
Is it free to browse?
Yes. Browsing, searching and viewing event pages on IslandLive is completely free, and we never add a booking fee. When you buy a ticket, you pay the organiser's seller at their price — nothing extra goes to us.
Where does my payment go when I buy a ticket?
Straight to the organiser or their ticketing provider. IslandLive doesn't process ticket payments or hold your money, so your payment details never touch us. Any questions about a payment go to whoever sold you the ticket.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled entirely by the seller you bought from — the organiser or their ticketing provider — under their own policy. Because IslandLive doesn't sell tickets or take the payment, we can't issue refunds. Contact the official seller listed on the event page.
A listing looks wrong or out of date. What do I do?
Tell us. Email support@islandlive.org or message us on WhatsApp (+94 78 357 9263) with the event name and a link, and we'll check it and fix or remove the listing if needed. We only ever link to official sellers, so flagging anything suspicious helps keep listings safe for everyone.
How do I list my own event?
Anyone can become an organiser. Create an account, complete the short organiser application, then add your event details, images and where to buy — link your official ticketing site, add a WhatsApp number, or mark it free entry or pay at the door. Pay the one-time listing fee and publish. Listings need a real description, so write a few sentences about what attendees can expect.
What does it cost to list an event?
Organisers pay a flat one-time listing fee per event, charged through PayHere when you publish — no commission and no monthly subscription. You sell tickets wherever you like and keep 100% of your sales; we just list the event and send people to your seller. See the Pricing page for the current figure.
How do I contact support?
Email support@islandlive.org or message us on WhatsApp at +94 78 357 9263. We aim to reply within one business day. For questions about a specific event — tickets, refunds, entry — the organiser or their official seller is the right place; we can help with listings and using the site.
