How it works

IslandLiveconnects people looking for something to do with the organisers putting on events across Sri Lanka. We list what's on and point you to the official seller — we don't sell tickets ourselves. Whether you're heading to an event or running one, here's exactly how it works.

Finding events & getting tickets

1. Find an event. Browse by category or city, search for an act or venue, or use 'events near you' to see what's closest. Every listing shows the confirmed date, venue and a map.
2. Check the details. Open the event page for the line-up, timings, venue and directions. Everything is confirmed and in one place, so you're not piecing it together from social media.
3. Go to the official seller. Each event tells you where to get in: the organiser's own ticketing site, a WhatsApp number, free entry, or pay at the door. Follow the link and you're dealing directly with the organiser.
4. Buy from the organiser. You buy your ticket on the seller's own platform, at their price — we never add a booking fee, and your payment goes straight to them, not us.
5. Turn up. Bring whatever the seller gives you — a ticket, a booking reference, or just yourself for free and pay-at-the-door events. Entry is handled by the organiser at the venue.

Listing an event

1. Become an organiser. Create an account and complete the short organiser application. It's a one-time step so we can reach you about your events.
2. Build your event. Add the title, a real description, date, time and venue, and upload a clear cover image. For multi-day or multi-venue events, add each occurrence as its own date.
3. Add where to buy. Tell visitors how to get in: link to your official ticketing site, add a WhatsApp number, or mark the event as free entry or pay at the door. You can list ticket tiers and prices for reference too.
4. Publish. Pay the one-time flat listing fee through PayHere and your event goes live automatically — appearing in search, category and city pages. There's no commission and no subscription.
5. Reach event-goers. Your event shows up where people are already looking, and every page is built to be found on Google and shared on WhatsApp, Facebook and X — sending buyers straight to your seller.
